Type: Herbaceous
Origin: South and Central America. Has the potential to become invasive.
Description: Plant is normally 3 feet tall but can grow taller. Opposite leaves are red / purple / green and are 0.5 – 5” in length. Flowers are small and white.
Edible: Leaves can be eaten raw or cooked as a potherb.
Other
uses: As ornamental plant. Some medicinal uses.
Notes: Near compost.
